Half-Day Excursion included in the package: You will be picked up from your hotel in the morning to drive to the historical district where you will visit the St. Sophia Church, representing the pride and glory of the Byzantine architecture; the Blue Mosque, famous for its blue tiles; Byzantine Hippodrome, where once chariot races were held; and the Grand Bazaar, world’s largest covered bazaar with 4000 shops. (Some sites featured in this excursion are closed  on Mondays, Tuesdays, and Sundays; and they may be altered if the excursion falls into these days).

 

Optional Excursions in Istanbul:


    Full Day Bosphorus & Asia with cruise ( $120 ): Driving through the Intercontinental Suspension Bridge to go over the Asian side of Istanbul. A visit to Beylerbeyi Palace, the white marble summer residence of Ottoman Sultans used in the 19th century also famous for its magnolia filled gardens. The order of the cruise portion and the land portion may be switched. After lunch a cruise by boat on Bosphorus, the unique winding strait separating two continents (Europe and Asia), of which its shores offer a delightful mixture of past and present.  A great taste of skyline with minarets and domes, pine covered hills, and landmarks of Istanbul such as Dolmabahce Palace, Tower of Leander, and Ortaköy Mosque.   (operated daily other than Mondays). 

     Istanbul by Night ( $120 ):  Dinner including 1/2 bottle of wine at a famous night club, accompanied by a traditional Turkish show -for the performance of folk dancers, belly-dancers, Turkish music bands, and singers.  Transfers included.  


     Full-Day Prince's Islands ($120.- incl. lunch):In the morning transfer to pier to board a public boat to the Prince’s Islands. Cruise on the sea of Marmara to Buyukada, the largest of the islands. Take a paiton ride to the pine capped hills of the island, admiring the beautiful facades and gardens of old wooden mansions. Lunch at a fish restaurant. Cruise back to Istanbul by public boat.
